We apologize for the inconvenience, but Casa Myrna’s phone, email, and Internet access are currently not operating. We are working hard to fix the problem. SafeLink is still fully operational. Please check back on our website for updates.
Community of Conscience Breakfast
On May 20, we held our Sixth Annual Community of Conscience Breakfast at the Wyndham Boston/Beacon Hill, raising $115,475 and welcoming nearly 250 guests. The generosity of our sponsors, advertisers, and all who attended helped set a record for Casa Myrna. We are particularly grateful to our lead sponsors, Verizon HopeLine and United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley. A huge thanks Laura and Eric Peterson for matching all gifts made at the breakfast up to $12,000. Reverend Liz Walker was an outstanding emcee. Survivor Nadine Walker Mooney, Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Karyn Polito, Boston Police Commissioner William Evans and Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley all gave inspiring remarks on the theme of “celebrating progress.” We presented the Norman Knight Charitable Foundation Leadership Award to Megan Gates, immediate past president of the Casa Myrna Board, and the Myrna Vazquez Advocacy Award to Councilor Pressley.
We are incredibly grateful to our volunteers from Alkermes, who painted and organized the childcare space at our Transitional Living Program (TLP), and installed a new outdoor play structure for the children. Thank you also to Liberty Mutual and the Serve With Liberty team of employees who recently landscaped the yard, cleaned the windows, decks, and recreation areas, and planted flower beds at TLP. Thank you, corporate volunteers, for your dedication to Casa Myrna!

Casa Myrna Awarded $100K from the Cummings Foundation
We are incredibly grateful to the Cummings Foundation for selecting Casa Myrna as a recipient of the “$100K for 100” program. We were chosen from more than 350 applicants in a very competitive review process. This transformative gift is our first six-figure foundation grant and will support our comprehensive domestic violence intervention, awareness and prevention efforts. CEO Stephanie Brown attended the festive grantee reception on June 4 and met Bill and Joyce Cummings, Executive Director Joel Swets and fellow grantees. View the press release here.
