RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS

Mary Lawson Foreman Emergency Program

The Mary Foreman program provides safety and shelter for
10 women and up to 13 children who have been made
homeless by domestic violence. While in the program, they
have access to all of Casa Myrna’s supportive services. After
completing initial assessments, women work with agency staff and community-based service providers to plan their next steps. Maximum length of stay is 6 months, although no woman will be asked to leave if she has not found a safe housing option.

Transitional Living Program

Casa Myrna’s TLP provides longer-term housing for 6 women and up to 9 children. Most have already been through one (or more) emergency shelter placements, and are now working to secure permanent housing, improve their professional skills and solidify the gains they have made that will sustain futures free of violence and abuse. Maximum length of stay is 18 months, although no woman will be asked to leave if she has not found a safe housing option.

Adolescent Transitional Living Program

ATLP is a residential program for pregnant and parenting teen girls who have been victims of abuse. It can accommodate 8 women and up to 13 children. While at ATLP, young mothers finish their high school educations, attend job training or other professional skills-building programs, and participate in nightly group meetings on topics ranging from parenting and nurturing to the dynamics of abusive relationships. Maximum length of stay is 18 months, although no woman will be asked to leave if she has not found a safe housing option.

Family Services

The Family Services program works to address the complex needs of children who have witnessed the abuse of their mothers, helping them heal and recover from the trauma they have experienced. The program is based on the belief that strengthening the bond between mother and child is critically important to the healing process in the aftermath of domestic violence.
