There's Something about Mary...

Bloomingdale’s and its parent corporation Macy’s have been supporters of our work for many years.  The store includes us in its annual Shopping Benefit every October, helping us raise money by giving our donors the opportunity to enjoy deep discounts on a special day of shopping to benefit local non-profits.  That is good news in and of itself, but we’re even luckier to work with Mary Flynn, Public Relations Manager at Bloomingdale’s in Chestnut Hill.  Over the years, Mary has wowed us with her special genius for incorporating Casa Myrna into store promotions and special events with designers like Eileen Fisher and Charles Nolan.  Last week, Mary called with a donation she knew we wouldn’t be able to resist: a shipment of adorable teddy bears, dressed for spring in sharp green cotton sweaters.   The children in our shelter programs were delighted to make their acquaintance, and we hear there were a number of impromptu tea parties after the bears were delivered.  Thanks to Mary and our friends at Bloomingdale’s for this unexpected ray of sunshine at the end of January!
